Terms of Service

These terms cover vehicle rentals and tour bookings made with Lilos Rentals in Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Making a booking request means you accept them.

A booking request made on this site is a request, not a confirmed reservation. Your booking is confirmed when we reply to you, normally over WhatsApp. Prices shown are in US dollars and may change until your booking is confirmed.

• You must hold a valid driver's licence and present it at pickup.
• Minimum age is 18. Higher-displacement motorcycles may require riders to be 21 or over.
• A refundable security deposit of $300 is held for the rental period and returned when the vehicle comes back undamaged.
• Helmets are included and must be worn — this is Costa Rican law, not our policy.
• You are responsible for traffic fines incurred during your rental, and for damage caused by misuse, riding under the influence, or riding outside agreed areas.
• We provide roadside assistance. Damage not caused by misuse is our problem, not yours.

Tours are operated by vetted local partners. Departure times, itineraries and inclusions are described on each tour page. Tours can be changed or cancelled by the operator for weather, sea conditions or safety, in which case you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.

• Cancelled 24 hours or more before departure: 50% cancellation fee.
• Cancelled less than 24 hours before departure: no refund.
• If we or the operator cancel, you are refunded in full — 96% of the total where the payment was made by credit card, reflecting card processing costs.
• Children under 12 receive 20% off full-day tours; under 3 travel free.

Riding a scooter or motorcycle, and taking part in activities such as rafting, diving or canopy tours, carries real risk. You take part at your own risk and must follow the safety instructions given by us and by tour operators. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Where you book through a partner agency's link, any discount shown is applied to your price and the agency is credited. Discounts are not combinable with other offers.
