Tamarindo Beach has waves for every level, and our bilingual instructors make sure everyone has a good time in the water. Each lesson starts with a 15-minute safety talk on the sand, then an hour and 45 minutes of coached practice — and afterwards the board is yours for another two hours to keep surfing on your own.

Meet on the beach
Meet your instructor on Tamarindo beach, get your board and rash guard, and go through a 15-minute safety talk and pop-up practice on the sand.

An hour and 45 minutes of coached practice in Tamarindo's gentle whitewater — your instructor helps you catch waves until you are standing.

- Lesson times follow the tide, so we confirm your start time when you book.
- No experience needed, but you should be comfortable swimming in the ocean.
- Kids are welcome — tell us their ages and we will match the instructor.
- Cancellations 24+ hours before departure carry a 50% fee. Inside 24 hours there is no refund.
